Brazil: Violent deaths drop 8.2% nationwide in 2025; femicides rise 4%

The 20th edition of the Brazilian Yearbook of Public Security, released this Thursday (Jul. 23), shows that the number of intentional violent deaths (MVI) in Brazil fell from 20.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2024 to 19.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2025, representing an 8.2 percent decrease.
