BMS launches dual immunotherapy for metastatic melanoma
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) has announced the launch of RELOPDUO, a fixed-dose combination of nivolumab and relatlimab) in India following approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO).The company said the therapy is India’s first LAG-3-based dual immunotherapy and is indicated for adults and children aged 12 years and above with unresectable or metastatic melanoma. RELOPDUO combines the PD-1 inhibitor nivolumab with the LAG-3 inhibitor relatlimab to target two immune checkpoints involved in the body’s immune response against cancer.According to BMS, the approval is supported by findings from the Phase 2/3 RELATIVITY-047 trial, which showed improved progression-free survival compared with nivolumab alone.
