BJP urges Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to probe ‘contamination’ in Mettur dam catchment area

Joseph Vijay to instruct officials of the Water Resources Department (WRD) to inspect the Mettur dam catchment area in Dharmapuri district, where water was reportedly contaminated.Referring to a media report about the Mettur dam catchment area near Eriyur in Dharmapuri district, Mr. Nagenthran said that a foul smell filled the vicinity and that the public health of nearby villages was being affected.Due to effluents, the water has turned green in the catchment area, he said.
