Bid to demolish B-listed Maxwell Street printworks rejected on appeal

Plans to knock down the B-listed former McCorquodale’s Printers on Maxwell Street and build a 19-storey Radisson hotel have been refused on appeal, with a Scottish Government reporter ruling the tower’s massing and height would harm Glasgow’s central conservation area despite accepting the site’s repair is not economically viable.
