BCR, ING Romania extend RON 280 mln loan to Bucharest City Hall to refinance local public debt

06 August 2026 Banca Comercială Română (BCR) and ING Bank Romania, some of the largest banks in the country, announced they will lend the Bucharest City Hall a total amount of RON 279.33 million (EUR 53 million) for 10 years, to refinance local public debt originating from capital installments due between June 2026 and June 2027, according to Profit.ro data. The first lot of the tender concerned the contracting of financing worth up to RON 140.295 million and was won by BCR, which will collect interest amounting to RON 53.67 million. ING Bank will finance PMB with RON 139.034 million and collect interest of RON 54.193 million.
