BBC urged to change 2020 TV Licence rule in boost to millions of households

As it stands, those in receipt of Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) Pension Credit over the age of 75 can get a £0 licence.This was changed back in 2020, when anyone aged 75 and older could get a free TV licence. Now, a petition on the Parliamentary website warns: "We want the Government to fund free TV licences for existing pensioners and those who reach the official retirement age."When people reach retirement age, we think they should receive a state-financed free TV licence."
