Average renting cost up 1.2 percent: ministry
By Jonathan Chin / Staff writer, with CNA Add TT as Preferred Source The average cost of renting an apartment in Taiwan so far this year was NT$8,600 per month, up by 1.2 percent from September last year, the Ministry of the Interior said yesterday.The top three most expensive places to rent in Taiwan were New Taipei City at NT$13,000 per month, Taipei at NT$12,500 per month and Taoyuan at NT$10,000 per month, Department of Land Administration head Lin Chia-cheng (林家正) told a news conference in Taipei.The ministry reports on rent amounts every six months to provide accurate information to young Taiwanese seeking accommodation, a practice that started last year.
