Attraction near Birmingham says 'we have been very honest' as impact of heatwave emerges

The heatwave has had an impact on this years flowers11:55, 05 Aug 2026Shropshire Petal Fields is set to return to Newport this summer but they have admitted "we have to be honest" due to the heatwave.‌This joint venture from Shropshire Petals and Shropshire Festivals turns one of the petal fields into a visitor attraction whilst the blooms are at their best.‌There was a sneak peek at the field last weekend, as it was opened up for two live music events, welcoming an ABBA tribute and the Petals Orchestra for a Proms event.‌READ MORE: Worst places in Birmingham city centre for violence and sex crimesOn selected dates from August 7 to 16 (closed on 11 and 13), the petal field will reopen, and visitors will be able to explore the field of delphiniums, sunflowers, cornflowers, and wildflowers.H
