At Baguio’s Mirador, Jesuits have spent more than a century watching the Earth and skies

For nearly 120 years, Mirador Hill has been home to one of the Philippines’ oldest earthquake observation sites. Hidden inside the Mirador Jesuit Villa, the seismic station has survived war, reconstruction, technological revolutions, and even the devastating July 16, 1990, Luzon earthquake that crippled much of the city.
