As insults fly around trade, negotiators for Canada and the U.S. avoid getting personal in public
Politicians from Canada and the United States have thrown varying degrees of personal insults back and forth across the border this week, but the two governments' trade negotiators avoided getting personal — at least in public. Experts believe the two trade leads are striking a different tone because they have a different role to play as the dispute heats up.
