Are 3400 jobs really on the way from Scotland's new AI Growth Zone?

It’s the figure that has been rolled out time and time again with any UK Government announcement about its AI Growth Zone in Lanarkshire or – as former UK Tech Secretary Liz Kendall claimed earlier this year – Scotland’s future “mini silicon valley”. Today, it was the news that the National Wealth Fund will be guaranteeing a large chunk of a hefty £252.5 loan from ING, ABN and Santander to help AI firm DataVita expand its DV1 data centre in Chapelhall and construct a second facility nearby.
