APSRTC employees to submit memorandums on July 27 against private e-bus policy

Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Public Transport Department (APSRTC) Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Sunday said thousands of APSRTC employees across the State would submit memorandums, signed by employees, to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu through the respective District Collectors on Monday(July 27) as part of the JAC’s State-wide protest.In a statement, JAC conveners Y. Srinivasa Rao and P. Damodara Rao urged the State government to withdraw its policy of operating electric buses through private operators. Instead, they demanded that electric buses be procured and operated exclusively by the State-owned APSRTC, with services run by APSRTC employees.The employee leaders said that if the government was serious about strengthening the public transport system, it should focus
