Anti-trafficking day to be observed today

The Victims Information, Sensitisation, Welfare and Assistance Society (VISWAS), a voluntary organisation working for the welfare of victims of crimes and excesses, will observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons here on Thursday (July 30, 2026).District Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Firoz M. Shefik will inaugurate the programme at Bharathamatha CMI Public School. Viswas secretary general and former deputy director of prosecutions P. Premnath will deliver the keynote address.The United Nations observes July 30 as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons to raise awareness about human trafficking and promote protection and support for victims and survivors.
