The VAT cut, announced by Mr Burnham, the new Labour Party Prime Minister, on Monday, will be worth £45 for households.‌As well as this welcome respite from October 1, the government has also confirmed it expects 6 million households will receive the £150 Warm Home Discount this year.‌The Warm Home Discount has been a key policy in the Government’s approach to tackle fuel poverty and reduce the energy costs of low-income and vulnerable households across Great Britain, primarily through the provision of £150 energy bill rebates, funded through a levy on all domestic gas and electricity customers.‌READ MORE Dr
