Allahabad HC pulls up UP police over defunct CCTV and generator at police station

The Allahabad high court found non-functional police station equipment a dereliction of duty. This observation came while hearing a petition regarding illegal detention and lack of power. The court noted generators and solar panels had been non-functional for extended periods. It directed the Uttar Pradesh DGP to ensure all police stations have backup power. The SP was also ordered to explain the status of equipment at all district police stations.
