Airlines announce Kumamoto flight change policies
By Jonathan Chin / Staff writer, with CNA Add TT as Preferred Source Taiwanese commercial airlines with direct flights to Japan’s Kumamoto and Taiwan’s largest online air ticket vendor yesterday announced refunds and rescheduling policies for people with flights booked to the prefecture, a day after a magnitude 7.1 quake struck the region.Kumamoto Airport was temporarily closed after the earthquake, but has since reopened.China Airlines said that anyone traveling to or stopping in Kumamoto through Wednesday next week could cancel their tickets or replace them with tickets to Fukuoka or Kagoshima, with a one-use processing fee waiver.
