The vessel is visiting the city as part of an international historical outreach tour and provides a fascinating glimpse into what life was like for explorers around 500 years ago.The Spanish Nao Santa María was built by the Nao Victoria Foundation in Punta Umbría, Huelva, with support from the Huelva Provincial Council and Cajasol Foundation. Construction began in January 2017 and took 14 months to complete, with the replica finished in March 2018.
