A.P. Rythu Sangham demands govt. to revoke G.O. 470
The Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham on Thursday demanded the immediate withdrawal of Government Order (G.O.) No. 470, alleging that the GO implementation would significantly reduce compensation payable to farmers whose lands are acquired for public projects. The organisation warned of launching state-wide protests if the government failed to fulfil their demands.The farmers’ organisation president V. Krishnaiah and secretary K. Prabhakar Reddy stated in a release that the State government was already paying lower compensation under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, when compared with several other States.
