A look at two of Manitoba’s oldest family farms, still in the same hands after 150 years

A drive through rural Manitoba passes farm after farm—grain bins catching the light, cattle scattered across pasture, and the occasional yard with old machinery rusting away. Most have changed hands at some point—sold, bought out by a neighbour, or left behind when nobody in the family wanted to take it over.
