An 82-year-old man donated his lifetime savings of ₹60 lakhs to Madurai Collector Nishant Krishna on August 10, 2026 | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement An 82-year-old man from Madurai, on Monday (August 10, 2026), donated his entire life savings and pledged his body to medical research during the district’s public grievance redress meeting. P. Subbiah, a resident of Harvey Nagar in Tirupparankundram, presented a cheque for ₹10,000 toward the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund to Madurai District Collector Nishant Krishna on Monday. Further, he formally handed over a will document to the District Collector pledging his entire bank balance of ₹30 lakh along with its accrued interest, alongside valuables and assets worth another ₹30 lakh currently held in his bank locker, to the Flag Day Fund.
