£778 monthly DWP payments at risk from September under Andy Burnham

NewsCost Of LivingDWPLetters are being sent out09:30, 28 Jul 2026Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Disability Living Allowance claimants are being warned not to ignore a September letter as payments worth up to £778 every four weeks could be affected.‌150,000 disabled adults still receiving Disability Living Allowance in England and Wales will receive a DWP letter as the benefits team restarts a transfer of DLA to Personal Independence Payment, or PIP.‌Claimants are not automatically transferred. Once the DWP sends an invitation to claim PIP, the recipient generally has 28 days from the date on the letter to start the application.
