400 kg of gutkha products seized, one held

The Cuddalore police seized 400 kg of gutkha and other banned tobacco products, being smuggled in an SUV and arrested one person in Vriddhachalam on Saturday.Following a tip-off on the movement of the contraband, a police team intercepted the SUV at Periyar Nagar in Vriddhachalam. On searching the vehicle, the police found 400 kg of gutkha and other banned tobacco products.The car driver, identified as Virender Singh of Jalore district in Rajasthan, was arrested and remanded in custody.
