3 killed in covered van-auto-rickshaw collision in Kishoreganj

Three people, including a woman and a child, were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a covered van in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj this afternoon.The victims are Rabeya Akhter, 45, of Kakailcheo village in Ajmiriganj upazila of Habiganj; Milan Mia, 30, of Kalapara village in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj; and his five-year-old daughter, Jaramoni, said police.The accident happened around 1:45pm on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional highway in the Tebhaga area of Achmita union.Police said all victims were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.Witnesses said that a covered van collided head-on with the Bhairab-bound three-wheeler coming from Kishoreganj.Locals rescued the injured and took them to the Katiadi Upazila Health Complex.
