3 held as 33 AL, affiliates activists accused in Netrokona tree uprooting case

Police have arrested three people after a case was filed against 33 leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League [now banned] for allegedly uprooting 12 mahogany trees in Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona.Another 15 to 20 unidentified people were also accused in the case.Kalmakanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter this morning, saying legal proceedings were initiated following instructions from Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal.
