220 T.N. pilgrims in Nepal safe, no details about 84 persons: Minister

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Aadhav Arjuna on Monday said 220 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who had gone to Nepal were safe, while 84 could not be traced.He told the Assembly that the government was in touch with the family members of those who could not be traced.“We collected details from the commanding system of the External Affairs Ministry. We requested the Ministry to establish contact with the governments in Tibet and China, as they could have gone there,” the Minister said.He said 21 persons had already reached Tamil Nadu and the government had made arrangements for family members who wanted to travel to Nepal.He said the government was working closely with the Union government and Nepal government making all efforts to rescue the Tamils and help centres were functioning 24x7.
