2 killed as truck crushes easy bike in Lalmonirhat

Two passengers of a battery-run easy bike were killed and three others, including a woman, were seriously injured after a truck ran over the vehicle in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat this afternoon.The accident occurred on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway near Sonali Bank Suchona Chattar of Hatibandha. The injured were rescued and taken to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex, where they are undergoing treatment, said Hatibandha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ashrafuzzaman Sarker.The deceased were identified as Jahurul Haque, 50, of Pashchim Sardubi under Barakhata union and Abdul Jalil, 52, of Singimari in Hatibandha upazila.According to witnesses, a truck was heading towards Burimari land port from Lalmonirhat.
