2 arrested over rape of Moulvibazar woman

Police have arrested two people after a 19-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar.A case was filed with Kamalganj Police Station yesterday following the incident.The arrestees are Badrul Islam, 40, of Marajaner Par area under Shamsernagar union, and Abdul Qadir Sheikh, 58, of Daulatpur area. Three other unidentified people have also been accused in the case.Kamalganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamar Uddin said the victim, a resident of Kulaura upazila who is currently living in the Shamsernagar area of Kamalganj, was approached by five men near Shamsernagar railway station around 9:30pm on August 9, who allegedly tried to forcibly take her away.Her mother-in-law tried to intervene but was allegedly pushed and threatened by the accused, he
