138 people who stole the show at The Open as thousands descend on Birkdale

Day two of The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale got underway on Friday. The golf championship has once again welcomed thousands of fans today (July 17) to watch some of the biggest names in golf compete for the illustrious Claret Jug. Tommy Fleetwood made a flying start to his second-round at Royal Birkdale by making two birdies in the first four holes. However, the day belonged to Lucas Herbert and Sam Burns who both equaled the record for the lowest score in a major within minutes of each other. Herbert had a five-foot putt on Royal Birkdale’s 18th green to shoot a 61, which would have been the lowest-ever round in a men’s Major.
